I just went through the whole twisted process yet again with 2017.20. Garmin Express should give you the option to clean them out, imo. This is why you need almost double the free OS drive disk space of a map to do an install.Įverything in Program Data\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads is only taking up valuable space after installations. To make matters worse, during an install the map build data is stored in Program Data\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Temp but they get deleted after install (except for the empty folders!!). As Falcon9 pointed out, Mapsource files are in Program Data\Garmin\Maps, unless you've installed them to another drive or directory (in which case there will be a shortcut to the map folder in Program Data\Garmin\Maps). I've posted about this very same issue because more OS "disk" space isn't always an option on new hybrid tablets/laptops.ĭeleting everything in the normally hidden Program Data\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Maps directory won't affect Map source after you've installed to your devices
